Damages for Patient with Alzheimer's Disease
The court has approved a settlement of £40,000 for a woman suffering from Alzheimer's disease who had an accident whilst a patient in the care of Camden NHS Trust.
The woman was admitted to hospital for observation. She was rather confused and got out of bed without anyone there to supervise her. She tripped over unprotected repair works being carried out on the same floor as her ward and broke her hip. The injury caused her to suffer a lot of pain. As a result of the accident the woman now requires round-the-clock nursing care, which has meant going to live in a care home some miles away from her home and family.
